Director Selection Criteria Summary

CNSA Board Directors play an important role in setting the tone, strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the organisation. Directors are expected to understand CNSA’s governance framework, including the Constitution, By-laws, policies, reports and regulatory obligations, and to contribute actively and respectfully to Board discussions and decision-making.

The role requires a meaningful volunteer commitment, including attendance at Board meetings, face-to-face planning days and regular teleconferences, as well as additional time to support Board responsibilities. Directors are expected to act as strong stewards of CNSA by promoting the cancer nursing profession, modelling ethical leadership and protecting CNSA’s reputation.

Nominations were invited from Full Members who are committed to advancing cancer nursing and who can demonstrate relevant experience in one or more areas, including senior nursing leadership, executive or management roles, committee chairing or governance, major program or service leadership, budget or reform management, and digital, data or systems leadership in health or education.

Applicants were asked to address their experience and competence against the Director Selection Criteria in the nomination form, including through specific examples and/or relevant qualifications.

Thank you for supporting CNSA and for participating in this important election process. Please find a list of FAQs below.
