Help Shape the National Position on Nurses in Cancer Survivorship Care

CNSA, in collaboration with the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) is developing a Position Statement on the Role of Nurses in Cancer Survivorship Care. We are now seeking feedback from members on the draft statement. Your voice is essential to ensure this reflects real-world practice and the needs of our profession and the people we care for.

Why your input matters

High-quality, coordinated survivorship care is critical; and we know that nurses are central to delivering it.

Contributing to this consultation will help:

  • Ensure the lived expertise of cancer nurses informs national survivorship priorities
  • Advocate for nurses to work to full scope across all aspects of survivorship care
  • Strengthen workforce capability and support for cancer nurses
  • Embed evidence-based survivorship interventions into practice, education, research and policy
  • Drive recognition of the specialist role cancer nurses play in continuity of care, symptom management, long-term effects, and navigation

Australia is now home to 1.66 million people living with and beyond cancer, and this number continues to grow. Ensuring nurses are supported, recognised, and enabled in survivorship care has never been more important. Click here to read the draft statement.
