Cancer Nurses Day 2026: Celebrating cancer nurses across Australia
From morning teas and team lunches to decorations, photo walls, awards and moments of recognition, we loved seeing Cancer Nurses Day come to life in so many different ways - and in workplaces and communities right across the country.
Celebrations across Australia
This year, demand for our Cancer Nurses Day Host Kits was stronger than ever, with all 400 kits allocated ahead of the day and making their way to cancer nursing teams across Australia, spanning every state and territory and a diverse range of cancer care settings.
Importantly, more than half (54%) of registered celebrations were in regional or rural areas, highlighting the reach of Cancer Nurses Day well beyond our major metropolitan centres.
But the numbers only tell part of the story. What really brought the day to life were the photos and celebrations shared with us by cancer nurses and their teams.
Strong. Skilled. Specialised.
This year marked the final year of our Strong, Skilled and Specialised theme, and we couldn't think of a better way to bring it to a close.
Across the photos and stories shared with us, we saw teams taking time to recognise one another, colleagues celebrating the expertise within their workplaces and cancer nurses connecting over the profession they share.
Cancer Nurses Day has always been about making the contribution of cancer nurses more visible - but it's also about giving cancer nurses an opportunity to celebrate each other.
And judging by the celebrations we saw across the country, you certainly made the day your own.
Thank you for celebrating with us
To every cancer nurse and team who took part - thank you.
Cancer Nurses Day belongs to the cancer nursing community, and each year you continue to make it bigger, more visible and more meaningful.
We loved celebrating with you. See you for Cancer Nurses Day 2027!
