Have Your Say: Contribute to the National Evaluation of the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program

CNSA members are encouraged to take part in a national evaluation of the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP) and the Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP). These Programs are designed to improve access to information, navigation and wrap-around support for people impacted by cancer, and to integrate seamlessly with existing health services.

Why your voice matters

The Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has engaged Nous Group and Queensland University of Technology to undertake an independent evaluation of the Programs. The evaluation will assess how well these services contribute to the objectives of the Australian Cancer Plan and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan.

To date, valuable insights have been gathered through consultations. This survey is a key opportunity for the broader health workforce, including cancer nurses not directly delivering the Programs, to share their awareness, confidence and experiences with ACNNP-funded services and resources.

Where relevant, members are encouraged to note if they have learned about the ACNNP or its services through CNSA newsletters, our website, our Annual Congress, or CNSA information sessions.

About the survey
  • Who should complete it: Health professionals not directly involved in delivering the Programs, including primary care, allied health, specialist clinicians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers.
  • Purpose: To understand workforce awareness of, and confidence in, services and resources funded through the ACNNP and CPSP.
  • Time commitment: Approximately 10 minutes.
  • Anonymity: All responses are anonymous and submitted directly to the independent evaluators.
  • Closing date: 6 March 2026

Help spread the word

The evaluation team is aiming for a strong response rate to ensure a robust evidence base that reflects the diversity of the cancer care ecosystem. If you are able, please also consider sharing the survey through your professional networks, workplace newsletters, websites, and mailing lists.

Your contribution will help shape the future of cancer nursing, navigation and patient support in Australia.
