Ellie began her career as a lawyer working in discrimination, human rights employment law because she wanted to stand up for workers' rights and a fair go. She grew up on the Gold Coast with parents who held everyday jobs. It was through their influence that she gained a deep appreciation for the principles of fairness, respect and social justice. She strives to ensure her clients feel like they are being heard and are receiving the best advice possible to make an informed decision.
Before joining Slater and Gordon's industrial & employment team, Ellie worked across the community legal, government and private sectors. She leverage her varied skillset to assist unions across several industries and individual clients from all walks of life. Teegan is a lawyer in the Military Compensation team, based in the Slater + Gordon Brisbane office. Like an RSL Advocate, ESO, or DVA Advocate, she provides legal advice and support to current and former Defence members in their dealings with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
As a proud member of a Defence family, Teegan has witnessed the unique sacrifice that veterans make to serve their country. She is passionate about protecting the health and wellbeing of veterans by ensuring access to the benefits and entitlements they deserve.
The military compensation scheme can be complex and overwhelming. Her goal is to simplify the process by being honest and upfront about the benefits veterens may be entitled to.
The psychological wellbeing of Teegan's clients is paramount. It is her aim to make the claims process as stress free as possible and fight for a better future for her clients and their family.

Senior Practice Leader – Asbestos and Dust Diseases
Tracy is a Senior Legal Counsel in the Asbestos team at Slater and Gordon Lawyers, and an experienced litigator. She has worked in asbestos litigation for over 30 years in a lawyer and support capacity. She has been involved in more than 700 claims; from former James Hardie and Wunderlich workers, to wives who washed their husband’s clothes, and people exposed as children in home renovations. She never ceases to be surprised by the many ways in which people are exposed to asbestos.
Her priority is to achieve the best result for her clients, with the minimum amount of stress. She has a warm friendly manner and is very sensitive to her client’s needs. Outside of work she loves to walk long distances including the Camino de Santiago in Spain and the Kumano Kodō in Japan.
