MEET THE SPEAKER:
Matt Britland is a Medical Affairs leader with over 25 years’ experience across clinical practice, the pharmaceutical industry, and academia. He began his career as an oncology nurse at The Christie Hospital in the UK in the late 1990s, before studying medicines development and transitioning into a career in Medical Affairs, primarily in oncology.
He has held senior roles across medical strategy, field medical, and capability development in oncology, immunology, and rare diseases, and is currently completing a DrPH at UNSW focused on the impact of Medical Affairs on quality use of medicines (QUM).
A former President of MAPA (Medical Affairs Professionals of Australasia) and member of the MAPS APAC Steering Committee, Matthew has contributed to advancing Medical Affairs capability across the region. He also lectures in Oncology Therapeutics and Medical Affairs at UNSW and the University of Sydney.
He is passionate about strengthening collaboration between clinicians and industry to improve patient outcomes.
