Applications for Congress Attendance Grants open in early 2027.

Here’s something most members don’t know: some years, we’ve had more Congress attendance grants available than applications. Grants went unclaimed because nurses assumed they wouldn’t be eligible, or that someone else needed the support more.

This year, we want to change that.

Our Congress attendance grants give members up to $2,000 towards registration, travel and accommodation for the 2027 CNSA Annual Congress in Canberra, 9-11 June. If cost is what stands between you and Congress, this is exactly what they’re for.

Your chances are better than you think

A thoughtful application has a real shot. You don’t need a long track record or a perfect pitch, just a clear sense of what Congress would mean for you, your team and your patients.

  • You don’t need to be presenting. Grants are for anyone who wants to be in the room, whether you’re submitting an abstract or not.
  • No track record needed. Whether you’re early in your career or have never applied for a grant before, you’re exactly who these grants are for.
  • Every setting counts. Whether you work in a major city or a regional, rural or remote service, if cost is a barrier, we want to hear from you.
More than funding

Recipients join a group photo at Congress, share a short reflection afterwards, and give a five-minute presentation at a Tune in Tuesday webinar. Think of it as a ready-made chance to build your profile, share what you learned and inspire the next round of applicants.

Get ready now

You can do most of the groundwork before applications open:

  • Check you’re eligible. Grants are open to Full and Early Career members with at least 12 months’ membership.
  • Talk to your manager. Applications need their endorsement, so start that conversation now.
  • Think about your why. What would you bring back to your team and your patients?
