Supporting carers through every stage of the cancer journey

Caring for someone with advanced or terminal cancer can be overwhelming for families. CarerHelp is offering a series of free, nurse-led online sessions to support carers as illness progresses, through end of life, and into bereavement. These sessions are a valuable resource cancer nurses can confidently recommend to patients and families to reinforce education, preparation, and emotional support beyond the clinical setting.

Cancer nurses play a pivotal role in supporting not only people living with cancer, but also the families and carers who walk alongside them. As illness advances, carers often report feeling unprepared, uncertain about what to expect, and unsure where to turn for support.

CarerHelp’s free online information sessions are designed to address these gaps, offering practical, compassionate guidance delivered by experienced health professionals. These sessions align closely with the conversations cancer nurses have every day about planning ahead, symptom management, end-of-life care, and bereavement support.

These sessions can be shared with carers at different points along the cancer trajectory, supporting holistic, family-centred care.
