Nurse consultant
Luke Peeters is an Apheresis Nurse Consultant at Flinders Medical Centre (Southern Adelaide Local Health Network) with over a decade of experience across oncology, haematology, transplantation, palliative care and apheresis. He has held clinical, quality and leadership roles across both Central and Southern Adelaide Local Health Networks, with a strong focus on service development and clinical governance.
In his current role, Luke led the establishment of the SALHN apheresis service, developing it from the ground up. This included implementing comprehensive governance frameworks, policies, risk management systems, workforce education programs, and achieving accreditation aligned with ISO 15189 and NPAAC standards. His portfolio includes therapeutic and cellular apheresis, HPC-A collections, vaccination programs, SCIg services, and national engraftment reporting through ANZTCT.
Luke also contributes nationally as a Technical Assessor with NATA, auditing services against ISO 15189 and NPAAC standards, providing insight into system-wide risks, workforce challenges, and variation in practice across Australia.
He is the Hematology Society for Australia and New Zealand, SA Nursing Representative and Lead of the HSANZ Apheresis Special Interest Group, and is actively involved in statewide and national committees, including the SA Cancer State-wide Clinical Network and SA Nursing Cancer Clinical Network, with a focus on workforce sustainability and staff wellbeing. He is also a member of ANZTCT and the eviQ Nursing Reference Committee.
Luke is currently completing a Master of Health Administration and holds a casual Clinical Facilitator role with Flinders University, supporting the development of future nursing workforce capability.

Clinical Nurse
Sarah Doyle is a clinical nurse currently working in the Royal Adelaide Apheresis Unit.
Since graduating as a registered nurse from the University of South Australia in 1998 Sarah has worked in many settings both in the UK and Australia.
For the last 23 years Sarah has specialised in cancer nursing, working within both haematology and oncology inpatient and outpatient settings. She has completed post graduate qualifications in the UK in 2003 and Adelaide in 2006.
Sarah began working in the Royal Adelaide Apheresis Unit in 2009. Sarah is very pleased to hold the portfolio of ECP nurse and to be part of a team that have established an Extracorporeal Photopheresis service in South Australia.
Beyond her nursing role, Sarah is a devoted mother and enjoys spending time with her family.

Nurse Consultant, WCH
Louise is the Haematology and Cellular Therapies Nurse Consultant in the Michael Rice Centre for Haematology and Oncology. Her clinical responsibilities include case management of children and young people with non-malignant haematological disorders, and provision of apheresis services.
