Since 2024, we’ve come together on the second Thursday of August to honour the impact cancer nurses have on patients, families and communities every single day.  With advancements in treatments and technologies, alongside shifting healthcare landscapes and workforce dynamics, it is more crucial than ever to recognise the work of cancer nurses and the pivotal role they play in the field of cancer care.

We invite you to join us on Thursday August 13 2026 to shine a light on the extraordinary contribution of cancer nurses across Australia.

Get involved!

From regional sites to major metropolitan hospitals, across NGOs, community settings and beyond - Cancer Nurses Day is about coming together, wherever you are, to recognise the difference cancer nurses make.

Whether it's a simple morning tea, a team photo, cupcakes in the staff room or a full-scale celebration, there's no right or wrong way to be involved.

However you choose to mark the day, we'd love you and your team to be part of Cancer Nurses Day.
