New rapid learning: Occupationally acquired cancers

eviQ's new rapid learning highlights the importance of recording occupational and exposure history to ensure patients with a potential occupationally acquired cancer can be referred for appropriate evaluation.

Occupationally acquired cancers are often under-reported and under-compensated. Having cancer confirmed as being occupationally acquired may open up a greater range of treatment options for some patients.

At the end of this learning you will be able to:

  • outline the links between specific occupational exposures and common occupational cancers

  • make referrals to occupational and environmental physicians where appropriate.
