New Cancer LGBTIQ+ Inclusivity Toolkit
Healthcare professionals can now access a new online toolkit designed to strengthen inclusive, affirming and culturally safe cancer care for LGBTIQ+ people and their carers. It can be completed over multiple sittings, with learners encouraged to work through the modules sequentially.
The Cancer LGBTIQ+ Inclusivity Toolkit is a free, public learning resource that provides practical strategies to help healthcare professionals recognise and respond to the unique and often unmet needs of LGBTIQ+ communities affected by cancer.
Developed by the Out with Cancer Study team at Western Sydney University in collaboration with the McGrath Foundation and Breast Cancer Trials, the toolkit draws on world-leading research involving 561 LGBTIQ+ people with cancer and their carers, and 357 healthcare professionals.

The toolkit was recognised with a Platinum Award at the 2025 LearnX Awards for Best Industry-Specific Healthcare eLearning Project.
