New AIHW Report: The health of women in Australia

With an increasing focus on women's health in Australia, members may be interested in this new AIHW Report that provides a summary of the health of women in Australia, identifying how health changes across the life course, and how health outcomes and risks vary across different populations of women.

Key findings show women born today can expect to live to 85.5 years, with around 74 of those years in full health. While life expectancy is high, chronic conditions and mental health issues are major contributors to poor health, and more than half of women live with at least one long-term condition. The report also highlights important differences across age groups, Indigenous and non-Indigenous women, and those living in rural and remote areas.
