Get involved: Join our Congress program committee!

We’re looking for four members to join our Congress Program Committee. Bring your experience in education, research or event planning, or your local knowledge of Canberra, and help build a program that speaks to every cancer nurse. Early Career members are encouraged to apply.

CNSA is inviting expressions of interest for four positions on our Congress Program Committee for CNSA Congress 2027. Congress will be held at the National Convention Centre Canberra from 9 to 11 June 2027, under the theme People. Practice. Progress. Policy. The committee shapes the program, helping to choose speakers, support the abstract process and make sure the program reflects cancer nurses at every career stage and in every setting.

The committee is chaired by CNSA Director and experienced Nurse Practitioner, Justin Hargreaves, and includes:

  • Jemma Still, CNSA CEO
  • Kate Miller, our Professional Conference Organiser
  • Jenny Gilchrist, CNSA Director and experienced Nurse Practitioner

We’d love to hear from members with experience in cancer nursing education, research (such as abstract review or presenting), or planning conferences and events. A local connection to Canberra and the ACT is also highly valued.

We especially encourage Early Career members to apply. Your perspective helps us build a program that supports nurses who are new to cancer care, and it’s a great way to gain leadership experience with support from experienced colleagues.

The committee meets online monthly, moving to fortnightly in the three months before Congress, and runs until the post-Congress review is complete. For background on the committee’s role, membership and ways of working, read the Congress Program Committee Purpose and Outline.

To apply, click here and complete the short expression of interest form by Sunday 1 November.
