Free menopause education for health professionals available now 

Australian health professionals can now access two free courses to help women manage the effects of menopause. This boost to menopause training for health professionals is a key action in the Women’s Health Strategy 2020-2030, to support women and their health care providers.

The following government-funded, online accredited courses are being delivered by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, in partnership with the Australasian Menopause Society: 

  1. Managing Menopause in General Practice. This 2-hour course equips general practitioners and other health professionals with the latest evidence on menopause management, helping them provide person-centred care with confidence. Access via www.jeanhailes.org.au/MEP  (Accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine)

  2. Understanding menopause for nurses and midwives. This 1-hour course explores the role of nurses and midwives in menopause management, offering practical strategies to support people effectively. Access via www.jeanhailes.org.au/MEP (Endorsed by the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association and the Australian College of Midwives)
