CNSA and ISCCN 2025 Congress Wrap Up

The 2025 CNSA Annual Congress has officially wrapped—and what an extraordinary few days it was in Adelaide. Held in partnership with the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), this year’s Congress brought together cancer nurses from across Australia and around the world to connect, learn, and lead.

Across three inspiring days, delegates engaged in a dynamic program filled with expert keynotes, practical workshops, and bold conversations spanning the breadth of cancer care.

We celebrated moments of excellence at the Gala Dinner, where our annual awards honoured the achievements of outstanding individuals, including the awarding of Life Membership to Gabrielle Prest, MooGoo Scholarships to 5 incredibly deserving recipients, and celebrated the international recognition of two long term members Beth Ivimey OAM and Mary Duffy OAM with Global Lung Cancer Coalition Special Recognition Awards. A special highlight was the introduction of the Emma Cohen Award—recognising excellence in communication, compassion, and advocacy in cancer nursing. This new award honour's Emma's contribution and legacy and the values we hold across our profession.

The connections formed throughout Congress—in the sessions, over coffee, or on the dance floor—reminded us that cancer nursing is more than a job. It’s a community built on care, courage, and shared purpose.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our Congress Committee—Sue Bartlett, Ellen Heywood, Suzanne Bishaw, Alison Walsh, and Darryl Somayaji—for their vision and commitment. And also to Winnie So and Cath Johnson who oversaw the strategic arrangements from ISNCC to ensure our two organisations were united in our cause. Thank you also to our sponsors and exhibitors whose generous support made this event possible, and to our incredible event team led by Kate Miller at ChilliFox Events. We could not do this with you.

Please put the dates in the diary for 2026 and start planning your holidays on the West Coast. We're back to Perth after a ten year hiatus from 17 - 19 June at the Perth Conference and Exhibition Centre.
