Community of Practice: Join us for the final meetings of 2025
Rare Cancers CoP Meeting No. 3
Featuring Dr Evie Kendal – Challenging Conversations in Unfunded Therapy
21 November 2025, 11:00am – 12:00pm AEDT
Our final Rare Cancers CoP of the year is set to be an important and highly anticipated session. We are honoured to welcome Dr Evie Kendal, a respected bioethicist and public health scientist, who will explore one of the most complex issues faced by cancer nurses today: how to navigate conversations about treatment options that fall outside PBS funding.
We know this is a real-world challenge nurses encounter regularly, particularly when supporting patients with rare cancers who may have limited standard treatment pathways.
Dr Kendal’s session will help nurses:
- Build confidence in having ethically grounded, compassionate conversations
- Understand the nuances of discussing unfunded therapies
- Feel equipped to advocate for clarity, transparency and patient-centred care
We'd love to see you there - next Friday 21 November @ 11:00am AEDT (8:00am AWST). Join the group and access meeting information here. Having trouble? Email [email protected] for assistance.

Looking Ahead: New CoPs Launching in 2026
We are excited to announce that CNSA will expand its CoP program in 2026 with two new Communities of Practice:
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers – supporting nurses caring for people with colorectal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, gastric, and other GI cancers
- Sarcoma – dedicated to the unique challenges of caring for people with sarcoma across the lifespan
Both new CoPs reflect member demand and CNSA’s commitment to building collaborative, specialised networks that strengthen cancer nursing knowledge nationwide. Watch this space for more information coming soon.
