A new McGrath Model of Care is currently in development to reflect the delivery of high-quality supportive care cancer nursing for any type of cancer.
The development of the McGrath Model of Care is due for completion in mid-2025.
The McGrath Model of Care will:
- Align with evidenced-based practice that is guided by the Optimal Care Pathways for cancer care best practice nursing principles.
- Capture the voices of people with a cancer experience and their carers.
- Recognise the expertise, existing information and knowledge from other cancer organisations and healthcare professionals.
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including people with a cancer experience, carers, health professionals, cancer advocacy groups and researchers.
- Be supported by a range of expert clinicians, academics and people with a lived experience.
