Specialist Bowel Care Nurse and Cancer Nurse Educator, ICON Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens and McGrath Foundation
Amanda currently works as a Specialist Bowel Care Nurse, supported by Bowel Cancer Australia at Icon Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens, a role I’ve held for the past 18 months. I bring over 20 years of cancer nursing experience across Australia and internationally, including seven years at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where I completed a Graduate Diploma in Cancer Nursing and a Certificate in Critical Care Nursing.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people affected by cancer in both clinical and educational settings. I also serve as a Cancer Nurse Educator with the McGrath Foundation, contributing to the professional development of cancer nurses and promoting evidence-based practice.
My approach to care is grounded in empathy, compassion and a strong commitment to holistic, patient-centred care. I’m passionate about being a consistent source of education, emotional support and comfort during what is often one of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life.
