Advocating for culturally sensitive psychological assessment in ASEAN cancer care: The role of nurses.
ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
Cultural beliefs and social norms can influence how psychological distress is experienced, expressed and assessed in cancer care across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). When distress is not openly expressed, patients’ emotional and psychosocial needs may go unrecognised.
This webinar explores the importance of culturally sensitive psychological distress screening in oncology nursing, highlighting the critical role nurses play as frontline advocates in recognising and interpreting signs of unseen distress.
It will consider the challenges of standardised assessment approaches and the importance of embedding routine, culturally responsive screening into clinical workflows to support more holistic, person-centred cancer care.
