National Safety & Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards (third edition) Consultation
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare has commenced a broad consultation on the NSQHS Standards (third edition) to improve patient care into the future.
The first consultation aims to identify:
- focus areas for the NSQHS Standards (third edition)
- emerging and existing safety and quality issues
- key learnings from the NSQHS Standards (second edition)
- opportunities to improve the NSQHS Standards structure, support improved engagement and implementation
- implementation resources to support the NSQHS Standards (third edition).
The first consultation opened on 9 July 2025 and closes on 30 September 2025.
The Commission will consult with key stakeholders nationally, including health services, clinicians, clinical experts, consumers, peak bodies and Australian Government, state and territory health departments. Individuals are welcome to provide a written submission, complete a short online survey or participate in the focus group meeting to share feedback.
